The Japanese Black Pumpkin, also known as Kabocha, is a globe shaped fruit that has a very dark black-green skin and a brilliant yellowish- orange flesh. It is a type of squash and the inside looks very similar to a regular orange pumpkin, while the texture and flavor of the flesh resembles that of a sweet potato or perhaps a butternut squash.
